Romania PEVs stats after 7 months of 2017

How many electric powered cars have been sold in Romania in the past 7 months .

The number of 100% electric cars marketed in Romania from the beginning of the year to the end of July increased by approximately 180% compared to the same period last year.

According to the data, BMW is the most appreciated brand, which sold 46 units between January and July 2017, followed by Mercedes-Benz with 40 units, Renault with 18 vehicles, Audi, Mitsubishi and Volkswagen with 9 units and Porche five units.

For hybrid cars, the increase was over 215%. Most sales were recorded by Toyota (1,019 units), followed by Lexus (88 units), Kia (9), Hyundai (3) and Mercedes-Benz (2). .

According to statistics, between January and July 2017, compared with the first seven months of the previous year, the share of "eco" cars in total sales was 1.8%. Sales of ecological vehicles to 1,237 units, up 210.48% over the year 2016.
In July, 291 electric and hybrid cars were sold, up 9.81%, compared to the previous month, when 265 sold cars were registered.
In 2016, the number of new electric and hybrid cars sold in Romania was 1,183 units, up 138% over 2015. Out of this total, 167 were 100% electric cars.

Even if volumes are very small, increases are important, practically tripled , and show that there is an important growth potential for this category of cars which, appropriately stimulated, will achieve significant volumes and will thus contribute to reducing the generated pollution Of car traffic. Through the "Rabla Plus" program, Romanian citizens who want to buy a 100% electric car or a hybrid plug-in can benefit from an eco-couch worth 10,000 euros and 4,500 euros respectively.
